To celebrate Universal Children’s Day, here is a simple pattern to make baby legwarmers. They are quick to knit in worsted weight yarn using 4.5mm needles; the rib stitch makes them so stretchy that you can use them for Newborns to toddlers–and they can even be used as wrist warmers for Mom! I used Patons Classic Wool (100g=205m) and two 4.5mm needles. I made these legwarmers to complete a custom ordered gift set: 1 ball made a newborn size pair of legwarmers, a newborn size Mount Alberta Hood, and newborn size Bees Knees Soakers–with only 2 feet of yarn to spare. If you are going to try making a set, too, I suggest you knit the 2 legwarmers last–and knit both at once, so you end up with legwarmers the same length before you run out of yarn!
